Summer Time in Waltham

It's summer time in Waltham, which means Farmer's Markets, parades, and hopefully some hot days if this weather ever turns.

It's also cookout season, so be sure to swing by as we always get compliments on the quality fresh sausage we sell - made locally! With more people staying home, we expect to see more of you at the shop to have "staycation" cookouts. The owner & butcher, Paul, will be able to make just about any cut of meat you want to throw on the grill, be it ground hamburger, steak tips, steaks, or chops. And we also sell Cowboy Hardwood Charcoal wood chips for your grill, for a nice wood-smoked taste to add flavor to your favorite meat.

And again, don't forget we do party platters for all occasions, including cold cuts, relish (olives, peppers, etc.) - just about anything you see on the shelf can be put on a tray for you to take home & serve.

Summer is where things tend to slow down on Moody Street, but don't worry, we're always prepared and never cut our hours down in summer, for your convenience.

Also of note is that some of our prices have dropped lately. This is a function of both reduced demand for some higher quality goods as well as rough economic times in Europe as well as the US (most of our imports come right from Italy). Parmigiano Reggiano is down to $13.99 per pound for the moment, and Prosciutto di Parma is down $1 per pound from $19.99 to $18.99. And DelVerde pasta - most non-specialty cuts - and are now down to $1.99 per pound - again, imported from Italy. .

It goes without saying among the employees, but we like to remind you: we have the freshest inventory of these fine imports around by far, due to the fact that we order just enough to sell for each week and get more in more often instead of hanging onto inventory for long periods of time. So stop in for your summer gathering or just to stock up on some good food soon!
